A habilitation (post-doctoral lecturing qualification) serves to formally establish an individual's ability to represent an academic subject in research and teaching independently and responsibly.
The habilitation grants an individual the official authorization to lecture in Germany in the subject for which the qualification is awarded and the right to use the title "Privatdozentin" or "Privatdozent".
The latest version of the Regulations Governing Habilitations at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities was published on January 2, 2012, as a complete version.
The Dean's Office is to be informed at an early stage about an intended application and of the subject of the planned written habilitation thesis in accordance with § 4 of the Regulations. Your primary contact person here is Simone Stapelberg.
